Growing up, I saw my mother, a nurse, and my father, a bartender, work incredibly hard to support our middle-class family. Despite his inability to read or write, my father took on two jobs, and the tips he made often became our school lunch money. As a child, I wondered why they worked so hard—surely, it was for the money. But soon I realized it wasn’t just about earning money; it was about how they managed and spent it. My parents didn’t know how to budget, which inspired me to become financially literate.
I took the initiative to learn about setting and sticking to financial goals. I saved diligently for my first car, and when my mother insisted that I help my sister with her down payment on a vehicle, I understood the importance of financial responsibility. From that moment, I committed to being debt-free and financially responsible.
My goal is to help families and individuals, much like my own, achieve financial stability and success. This is my why—to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing the financial guidance my family needed when I was a child.
